Core Strength

Having and photo-worthy 6-pack is great for photos but does not automatically mean someone has good core strength. The 6-pack (Rectus Abdominis) is only one of the stabilising muscles in the trunk that helps control correct spinal alignment, by supporting the spine when under load or at rest.

Having great core strength means that explosive strength power work can be done safely, with the spine being supported under the extreme loads.. Alternatively, when sitting at a desk or standing for several hours a day, insufficient core strength and balance can cause slumping in posture, which leads to numerous upper and lower back pain issues.

So when focussing on core strength at Foreshore Fitness, we think past the outer, ‘6-pack’ muscle and encompass all of the muscles in the trunk. We encourage all of our members to increase their core strength, which enables them to exercise at greater intensity and maintain a healthy posture during daily activities and tasks.

Please contact us to organise an appraisal and get started on the path to better health and fitness.
